Join us in Milwaukee to see our programs & facilities
Once you begin to explore what the Urban Ecology Center offers the city of Milwaukee, you will be inspired to consider the transformation that can occur in your own community. People who have come to see what the UEC has created describe the excitement and energy they feel here. When you visit, we will make sure that energy translates into knowledge of the model that you can put into action when you return home.
The consulting tour is a three site experience, typically requiring an overnight stay in Milwaukee. Transportation is included throughout your visit, and lunch will be provided for each day you are with us. UEC staff will pick you up at the beginning of the day, and drop you off at the end of the day, either at the airport or at your place of accommodations. An Institute guide will be your chauffeur throughout the day and drive you from branch to branch. The package includes structural and program deep dives. We will do our best to arrange for you to meet UEC staff to offer a variety of perspectives and additional expertise. We can also include a fun evening activity, like a bonfire gathering, a sailboat ride on Lake Michigan, a canoe outing on the Milwaukee River to dinner at a craft brewery, or a bike ride through multiple parks. Dinner will probably be on your own, but sometimes our board members are excited about hosting dinner parties. We can check in about their availability if this is of interest.
You can’t do it all in one day! Plan to visit Milwaukee for at least two days, and give yourself time to explore on either side of your scheduled tour. We can offer all sorts of recommendations to make this an unforgettable experience in understanding how the Urban Ecology Center is woven into the fabric of our city, and how it can become part of your community too.
This [visit to the UEC] showed me that the involvement of a community is key and this final result is inspiring, especially when you see people enjoying and taking advantage of the UEC mission. I truly believe we can readapt the UEC model to La Paz. Our economical context is very different, we will have to adapt the tips we are getting into our community. We already dreamed about it but I am just convinced that we can make it work.Marlu, Ecology Project International, La Paz, Mexico
Being here at the UEC and hearing the backstory, I heard the passion. I heard the call to action and see the manifestation of it. Taking home those little nuggets of the beginning stories, the efforts, what they wanted to see and how it actually happened and what it took to get it done—we need to copy that!Quanda, West Atlanta Watershed Alliance, Atlanta

We are looking for partner organizations who are looking to strengthen their mission.
The Urban Ecology Center Institute is an effort to share the model developed in Milwaukee. With three distinct branches in Milwaukee, the UEC connects people in cities to nature and each other.
